I really and truly hope that this isn't necessary.  However, being apart of other message boards, I have seen that that isn't the case all the time.

There are certain actions/behaviors that won't be tolerated- spamming, posting of pr0n, trolling, vulgarity that makes ME blush [and I'm fairly open minded, mind you], inflammatory and other childish things. The idea is for this community to be fun. Moreoever, it's headed up by a self-confessed cheeky, geeky, workaholic and perfectionist. Meaning I will SMITE THEE!  For those not versed in my cheeky speak: You'll be banned.

I realize that everyone is different, having different viewpoints, beliefs, etc.  I also have seen proof of people with vast differences handle them with maturity.   So I know it can be done and it will be expected.  Warnings will be given.  If not heeded, or no attempt to straighten up and fly right is seen, you'll find yourself unable to log in one day.

Look at it this way:

The MB is like an outdoor café.  Each of the tables represents a thread.  People gather at a table to discuss the topic.   Their enjoyment of this topic is suddenly derailed by a user that comes along and repeats criticisms which have been made multiple times before or are irrelevant.  The criticisms don’t stop at “I don’t think $statement.” or the likes and that is the end of the user's contribution.  It goes on and on and then devolves- be it into personal attacks on other posters or other people.  

The people at the table are sick of hearing it, but they can’t get up and leave.  At this café, once a topic is at the table, you’re not supposed to go to a new table to discuss the same topic.  So the people enjoying the discussion have to suffer because a user insists on sitting there and won’t leave.   If you read something you are compelled to post about, think about whether it will really advance the discussion because as the owner of this site, I will be thinking about it.  I said before, the idea behind this site is to be fun.

No one’s saying you cannot have a different opinion. In fact, your opinions are welcome.  What is being said is be mature about expressing them.  Don’t drop by, plant yourself in a thread and border on being evangelical trying to convert people to your POV when they do not share your opinion/agree with you.  Have enough respect to respect people's differences, inclusive of how they see the world.

If you have a problem with how anything is/has been handled in this community, it can be taken up with me, as I am the owner of this site and as such, ultimately determine what actions will be taken.  I can be reached by sending an email to admin (AT) donnieyen (DOT) us. Please refrain from childish name calling should you mail.  I'll simply have a good laugh.

Now, with that out of the way, why are you still reading?!?  There's a whole site out there...shoo!!
